Description from the seller
Hand-knotted Bukhara rug from Pakistan
This hand-knotted Oriental rug originates from Pakistan and is crafted in the classic Bukhara design. Characteristic of this design is the strictly geometric composition with a clearly structured layout and rhythmic repetition of the main motifs.
The central field features three large, octagonal Gul medallions arranged vertically. The medallions are embedded in a warm, red-ground background and are accompanied by finely worked geometric inner patterns. The reduced color palette of red, cream, and dark contrast tones gives the carpet a calm, cohesive effect.
The surrounding border is multi-tiered and consistently reflects the geometric motif system of the central field. Small, regularly repeated ornaments and fine line structures frame the main field precisely and emphasize the traditional Bukharan character. The overall composition appears balanced, clearly structured, and typical of classic Pakistani Bukharan works.
Origin: Pakistan
Design: Buchara
Production: hand-knotted
