Art Deco hanging lamp from the interwar period (1920–1935) in brass-toned metal with four original pâte de verre glass elements, styled in the Degué manner, 48 cm wide, 61 cm high, 48 cm deep, four fittings, in good vintage condition with minor signs of age, wiring updated and compatible with European fittings on request.
Description from the seller
Impressive Art Deco pendant light from the interwar period, crafted in brass-colored metal and featuring four original pâte de verre glass elements in the Degué style (David Guéron).
The central stem and three side arms are fitted with handmade pâte de verre lampshades in a warm amber/orange tint with deep cobalt blue accents. The organic color transitions and the cloud-like effect are characteristic of Degué's refined glasswork and create a particularly warm, diffused lighting effect.
Degué, active in the 1920s and 1930s in France, is one of the leading names in Art Deco glass art. His work is appreciated for its rich color schemes, craftsmanship, and distinctive decorative appeal.
The brass-colored fixture with a central dial and three side arms forms a harmonious, architectural whole that perfectly complements the aesthetics of the period.
The lamp is in good vintage condition with light signs of use appropriate for its age. Lovely natural patina on the metal.
The chandelier is equipped with bayonet fittings and the old electrical wire has been replaced. If you would prefer a European fitting, that is possible. Please let us know after the auction.
The lamp is well packaged and shipped fully insured.
