Description from the seller
This rare, refined centerpiece stand perfectly embodies the spirit of twentieth-century Italian design, characterized by clean, essential lines and a strong modernist imprint typical of the Art Deco style.
Manufacturer: Arthur Krupp Milano, a historic name in silverware and high-quality tableware, often associated with collaborations with great designers.
Material: The object is made of silvered alpaca (a metal alloy plated with silver), a sturdy and lustrous material, widely used at the time for its durability and its elegant appearance.
Design: The design features a faceted hexagonal base and a geometric stem supporting the circular plate, reflecting the rigor and symmetry of the Art Deco movement. The polished chrome or silver finish enhances these architectural forms. It measures 12.5 cm in height, 24.5 cm in diameter, and 12.8 cm at the base.
Era: Produced from 1938 to 1945, a golden period for the collaboration between Gio Ponti and Krupp. Similar pieces were exhibited at the 6th Milan Triennale.
The item is in good condition, as you can see from the photos. Marked Krupp Milano, this confirms its authenticity and historical origin. It is a collectible piece, ideal for enthusiasts of designer furniture and vintage furnishings.
