The plates contain several fold-out flaps that reveal the anatomy step by step: skin, muscles, organs and other internal structures. This type of educational material was used in biology and medical lessons and was an important tool at schools and universities.

The labels on the records read:
(copyright sign) J.F. Schreiber, 7300 Esslingen
Painted by Karl Herzog, 7400 Tübingen
with serial numbers JFS-3 0005 / JFS-3 0006, belonging to an educational series from the publisher.
