Several glass-clear selenite crystals in a druse within limestone.

The location is the Bopp Quarry in Ilsfeld, Germany.

In the 1990s, one could find selenite steps in Ilsfeld in this unique quality, because at that time the upper layers of the limestone were being mined.

Since then, no such items of this high quality have come onto the market. This top quality is seen only in old private collections.
In my opinion, the crystals even surpass the ones known from the Spanish gypsum mines.

Length of the crystals up to about 4 cm.

Overall size of the step is approximately 9.0 × 16.0 × 10.0 cm.
The weight is approximately 1.08 kg.
