Beautiful, imposing table lamp handcrafted by the renowned Belgian ceramist Robert De Schuytener. This lamp is an iconic example of Belgian ceramic art from the second half of the 20th century, where brutalist elements are combined with a luxurious "Hollywood Regency" finish.
Design & Features: The lamp base has a bold, conical shape with the glaze that is so characteristic for Schuytener: a deep, matte anthracite-black base that flows into a glossy gold/brass-colored top. The gold-colored portion displays a very beautiful 'craze' effect (fine hairline cracks in the glaze), which attests to the authentic aging process of this specific reactive glaze.
