The Baoulé believe that each person has an ideal spouse in the afterlife. They manifest in dreams, notably erotic ones. When they appear as persecutors, the village diviner has a statuette called blolo bla for the wife and blolo bian for the husband sculpted. These are kept in the spouses' rooms, who take great care of them. They have a beautiful brown patina from use.

Height 23 cm x width 6 cm x depth 7 cm. Weight 200 g.
