Description from the seller
Pair of Exclusive 'Egyptian Revival' Table Lamps - Bronze - Hollywood Regency - circa 1970
A gorgeous and imposing pair of table lamps in the 'Egyptian Revival' style, dating from the Hollywood Regency period (circa 1970). These lamps comprise a so-called 'pendant' (pair) and depict an Egyptian pharaoh and a queen/goddess.
The figures are made of bronze with a beautiful dark patina and rest on sleek, black-lacquered wooden pedestals. This combination of classical Egyptian motifs with a modernist base is very characteristic of luxury French and Belgian lighting houses from that period (such as in the style of Maison Jansen or Phanera).
The lamps are supplied with the accompanying black shades featuring a gold interior. The golden reflection creates a very warm and atmospheric lighting, in which the bronze figures are beautifully accentuated.
Details:
• Height with hood: 73 cm
Height without hood: 53 cm
• Foot dimensions: 17 x 17 cm
• Dimensions of the cap: 35 cm wide, 23 cm high
• Weight: approx. 3 kg per piece (6 kg total)
• Condition: In very good vintage condition with light signs of use in keeping with its age. The wiring is functional.
