Czechoslovakia - Gold 1 Ducat 1933 "Saint Wenceslas" - Rare Date - UNC
Offered is an exceptional and original Czechoslovak gold 1 Ducat dated 1933, struck at the historic Kremnica Mint. This 1933 issue is a key date in the iconic Saint Wenceslas series of the First Czechoslovak Republic, highly coveted by numismatists for its historical importance and lower mintage.
Condition:
The coin is in UNC (Uncirculated) condition. It boasts full original mint lustre with a brilliant "cartwheel" effect. The strike is sharp, and the surfaces are remarkably clean for the grade, with no evidence of circulation, wear, or cleaning.
Design:
Obverse: Features the crowned Bohemian lion with the Slovak shield on its chest, surrounded by the legend “REPUBLIKA ČESKOSLOVENSKÁ” and the date 1933.
Reverse: Depicts Saint Wenceslas in medieval armour, holding a banner and shield. The legend carries the historic prayer: “NEDEJ ZAHYNOUTI NÁM I BUDOUCÍM” (Do not let us or our descendants perish). Designer initials (O.Š. and B.P.) are clearly visible.
