“Barbados is a glazed ceramic ashtray made up of two parts: a circular base and a ring shaped lid that fits on top and hides part of the contents.
Ethereal in its geometric pureness, this exclusive ashtray was conceived by designer Angelo Mangiarotti to add class to the gesture of flicking cigarettes by partially hiding the fallen content.
This specific purpose is served by the ring element set onto the circular base, both crafted of fine glazed ceramic.
The simple, pure geometry of the design give Barbados a distinctive aura that almost turns it into an object of contemplation.”
Since the 1950s, Danese Milano has been a reference point for the Italian furnishing and design sectors.
The company has been led by Carlotta de Bevilacqua since 1999, with art direction first by Ron Gilad and later by Giulio Iacchetti Danese.
The story of Danese Milano is a narration of material culture, suggested functions, discreet pedagogies and practical beauty.
The legacy of the founders, with the work done by Bruno Munari, Enzo Mari, Angelo Mangiarotti and Achille Castiglioni, is found in the catalogue where it continues with the projects of Matali Crasset, Elliot Erwitt, Marco Ferreri, James Irvine, Naoto Fukasawa, Martì Guixè, Jonathan Olivares, Paolo Rizzatto, Francisco Gomez Paz, Jean Nouvel and BIG.
Danese Milano over the decades has assimilated the artistic gestures that had characterized his beginnings to mix and spread them in the methods and challenges that have developed new products.
This is how the energy of a contemporary vision coexists and is represented by the editions of Mimmo Paladino, the solutions of Yves Behar and the recent creations of Michele De Lucchi and Richard Hutten.
Item will be shipped well packed, insured and tracked.
