Beddenpan / Eierkoker - Pan - Copper

This is a 19th-century red-copper bed warmer. Used to pre-warm the bed, but you can also use it to cook eggs outside by the hearth. A nice idea for Easter.

In winter, bed warmers were used to preheat the bed. Such a pan consisted of a flat, round iron or copper container with a hinged lid and some ventilation holes. It had a long metal or wooden handle and could be filled with hot stones, a shallow layer of boiling water, or glowing coals — which could not be slipped between the sheets without risk...

This lot has been carefully cleaned and will be carefully packed, shipped via registered mail with insurance, and includes a Track & Trace code so you can follow the shipment. Pickup in Ridderkerk - Zuid Holland is also possible. I have delicious hand-ground coffee.
