In dealing with the dwindling industrial culture, the original spa parks where the gradierworks have remained are part of the listed historic monuments. The gradierwerk, a wooden scaffold with a distinctive form resembling a Jacob’s shell, serves in the newly laid salt garden St. Jacob for the extraction of salt from brine and has a positive effect on alleviating respiratory illnesses.
