Description from the seller

Authentic old Japanese yanagiba kitchen knife with a total length of about 34 cm — a beautiful piece of craftsmanship that clearly bears traces of use and age, but still possesses character and sharpness.

This traditional single-edged knife was designed for finely slicing fish and sashimi. The slender, long blade ensures clean cuts in one motion. The blade is hand-forged and bears original Japanese kanji markings, indicating artisanal craftsmanship. The natural patina tells the story of years of professional use.

The knife is sharp, but the edge isn’t perfect due to its age — something that’s very common with vintage Japanese knives and easily refined further by someone with sharpening know-how.

The wooden handle also shows signs of wear, which only adds to the charm. Not a modern factory knife, but a true workhorse with a soul.
