Description: A very fine 18th-century dinner spoon from Antwerp, crafted with a lip at the end of the handle. The rear side of the handle bears the initials M.A.P.

Origin: Antwerp, Belgium
Silversmith: windmill in contour (name of silversmith not known)
Year: 1724/26
Assay marks: master mark (windmill in outline), crowned year letter Y (period 1724 to 1726).
See the hallmarks: Anne-Marie Claessens-Peré, Antwerp Gold- and Silver Marks 1456–1798, p. 49 (left-hand row, 6th hallmark) and p. 89 (left-hand row, 1st hallmark).
