Side table – plant stand
This type of furniture is an example of the Dutch Art Deco Amsterdam School style, an oak side table. This style is characterized by expressive and abstract forms, clean lines and geometric elements.
The table probably dates from the 1910s–1930s.

The design is both sober and artistic, with four sculpted legs that converge at a round tabletop. The joints, as is common with this type of table, are peg-and-groove joints. Under the tops there are nails driven toward the legs. Old nails and the method of joining contribute to the aesthetics.

The tabletop is 40 centimeters in diameter and the height of the table is 64 cm.
The table is made of solid oak.
At the bottom there is a blade with a diameter of 24 cm.
The height from the ground to this leaf is 24 cm.
The table weighs 3.9 kg.
The table is well maintained with wood oil or wax. This brings out beautiful patterns and a warm wood tone. There are black components, as is often the case in this style; the bottom round feet of the legs are colored black.
The table was crafted in the distinctive architectural style of the Amsterdam School. The craftsman who made the table left his marks on the underside, using pencil and wax crayon.
Reported condition: good. Signs of use, appropriate for its age, with a few dents and scratches. There is no break or damage such as missing parts or broken pieces. Slight bowing in the middle of the top surface, possibly due to moisture or it is the knot. The tops are made of several pieces of wood. This, among other things, creates beautiful patterns in the wood. In addition, the table is stable. It is an antique piece of craftsmanship.
