Beautiful vintage champagne cooler, made for the House of Moët et Chandon, in Épernay.

This cooler is adorned all around with a raised relief of grape clusters and vines, and also with the engraved text:
MOËT & CHANDON Founded in 1743
Both ends are identically engraved, with the sides equipped with rings that serve as handles.

The bottom is stamped by the maker, MOD MEAUX ARGIT Made in France.
Argit is an authority in the field of champagne coolers and supplies to almost all major houses.

M.O.D. stands for Metaux Ouvres et Decores, originally since 1926 a manufacturer of furniture fittings in Meaux.
After attempting to diversify production, she manufactured silverware and purchased the brand ARGIT, the well-known maker of silver Champagne coolers.

The cooler is in good condition and is still perfectly usable.
