1 oz gold bullion coin from 2025, the 'Oso Pardo' issued by Real Casa de la Moneda, with the reverse depicting a brown bear, 999.9 purity, 31.104 g, 37.20 mm diameter, 1.5 euro face value, in ungraded condition.
Description from the seller
Gold Coin Brown Bear 2025 Real Casa de la Moneda launches in 2025 a 1-ounce gold coin with the image, on the reverse, of another emblematic animal of Spain, in this case a BROWN BEAR (Ursus arctos). The Cantabrian or Iberian Brown Bear (Ursus arctos pyrenaicus) is part of a population of Euroasian brown bears that inhabit the Cantabrian Range, it is listed on the Red List of endangered species and in Europe it appears in the European Mammal Assessment as critically endangered. In 2020 the Cantabrian Bear Foundation estimated the total number at about 370 Cantabrian bears, hoping that conservation and recovery projects in different areas of northern and northwestern Spain will achieve an increase in the number of individuals of this magnificent animal.
Meanwhile in the Pyrenees, where the population had effectively disappeared in 2004, with the death of the last breeding female, an effort is underway to reintroduce bears from Slovenia.
