Early 20th‑century Comtois mechanical alarm clock, nickel‑plated steel and brass, Belle Époque style with Louis XVI decorative top, 17 x 12 x 7 cm, 458 g, wind‑up mechanism, strikes every half hour on a gong and is in working order.
Description from the seller
Alarm clock "Comtois", an old mechanical alarm clock with a bell, dating from about 1895–1910.
An old mechanical alarm clock called 'Réveil Comtois', cylindrical in shape and resting on two small feet.
A typical model of the Belle Époque period, both utilitarian and decorative.
The case features a silver finish with raised beaded friezes.
The summit is surmounted by an integrated bell, crowned with an openwork floral decoration in Louis XVI style, with a grip ring.
The white enameled dial includes: Roman numerals for the hours, inner ring for 13–24 hours, lower subdial for the small seconds, blued hands.
Fully mechanical, manually wound mechanism.
Original inscription on the back, including "Réveil Comtois," with controls for winding, setting the time, and alarm adjustment.
The clock is working and the alarm is functioning.
Nickel steel case, gold-embossed steel upper decorative element, movement in brass and watchmaker's steel.
The designation "Réveil Comtois" corresponds to an era's commercial name evoking the clockmaking tradition of Franche-Comté. A beautiful antique horology object, decorative and functional, ideal for a collector or interior decoration in an antique style.
Overall good condition of preservation, normal signs of use, micro-scratches and light surface wear consistent with age. The object is complete and coherent without apparent modification; see the photos, they are part of the description.
