Description from the seller

Large French-Type Cartel Wall Clock
Exacta, Sweden – Gilded Wood

An impressive and unusually large French-type cartel wall clock fitted with an Exacta pendulum movement, produced in Sweden. All parts are original, including the wooden case and its gilded finish.
With a total height of 90 cm (35.4 in), this clock is nearly twice the size of a standard cartel clock, giving it a strong architectural presence and making it a highly decorative interior piece.
The richly carved wooden case is fully gilded and decorated with classical French elements such as laurel garlands and an urn-shaped finial. The dial is signed “Exacta – Sweden”, with Roman numerals and finely pierced decorative hands.

Exacta pendulum clocks were produced from 1945 by Svenska Urdepoten in Malmö. The movements were designed by Erik Nilsson, representing solid Swedish mid-20th-century clockmaking.
The movement is original and in working order. Due to age and originality, the clock should be appreciated primarily for its decorative and collector’s value, rather than as a modern precision timekeeper.

Dimensions:
Height: 90 cm / 35.4 in
Width: 53 cm / 20.9 in
Depth: 14 cm / 5.5 in
Dial diameter: 24 cm / 9.4 in

A rare opportunity to acquire an exceptionally large and decorative cartel clock, combining French stylistic tradition with Swedish craftsmanship.
