More than 50 years of magnificent failures
Oliviero Toscani is internationally renowned for being the creative force behind some of the most successful brands. Between 1982 and 2000, he designed the identity, corporate image, communication strategy, and online presence of Benetton, with the United Colors of Benetton campaign, transforming it into one of the most recognizable brands worldwide. During his career, he conceived the corporate image and some advertising campaigns for Esprit, Chanel, Fiorucci, Prénatal, and many other companies. He worked as a fashion photographer for numerous international magazines, including Vogue, Elle, GQ, Harper's Bazaar, Esquire, Stern, and Liberation. In 1991, he conceived, created, and directed 'Colors,' the first global magazine. In 1993, he founded Fabrica, of which he is also director, an international center for the arts and research on modern communication. Oliviero Toscani was born in Milan in 1942. He studied photography and design at the Hochschule der Künste in Zurich from 1961 to 1965.
