A wood coffee table in the Louis XV style with an inlaid floral motif, circa 1900, featuring curved cabriole legs and a shaped top, measuring about 80 cm wide, 45 cm deep and 47 cm high.
Description from the seller
It is a Louis XV-style inlaid coffee table. These tables are characterized by curved legs (known as 'cabriole' legs in English) and rich inlay decorations, often floral, on the top and sometimes along the perimeter edge.
Main features
Style: The furniture is in the Louis XV style, an era (1715-1774) known for its sinuous shapes, elegance, and the use of elaborate decorations such as floral inlays.
Materials: It is made of wood, probably walnut, mahogany, or rosewood, with inlays of different wood species and contrasting colors to create the central floral motif and the decorative edges.
Details: The top features a contoured shape with a central inlay depicting a floral bouquet and decorative borders along the sides. The legs are gracefully curved.
Era: While the design is historic, specimens like this can date back to the 19th century or the early 20th century, periods when the Louis XV style was very fashionable and many high-quality reproductions were produced.
The table shows small signs of wear from aging; it needs some minor restoration work.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped with tracked mail.
