Description from the seller
A pair of antique walking sticks dating to the late 19th – early 20th century, each with a slender, well-proportioned wooden shaft showing a rich, warm patina developed through long use. Both sticks are finely turned and fitted with metal mounts, one with a simple silver-coloured collar and the other with a decorative gold-toned metal pommel featuring a spiral-fluted design typical of the period. The wood displays attractive natural grain and colour variation, with clear signs of age including surface wear, scattered scratches, small knocks, darker areas from handling and localised wear to the finish.
The metal mounts show noticeable wear, rubbing, tarnish and small dents, consistent with prolonged use, and the ferrules show evident wear from contact with the ground. There are no visible structural cracks or repairs, and both sticks remain straight and functional; however, overall wear is clearly present.
The condition is best described as fair, with honest and pronounced age-related wear throughout, making this an appealing and authentic pair of period walking sticks with strong decorative and collector character rather than near-mint presentation.
