Original, official eight‑issue set of the automotive magazine Automobilia, published from June 1945 to August 1948, in very good condition.
Description from the seller
I am offering 8 issues of the magazine 'Automobilia', from issue 4469 (June 1945) to issue 506 (August 1948).
The magazine "Automobilia" appeared on February 1, 1917 under the name "L'automobile aux armées" which it kept until issue 39 of Christmas 1918, to become "Automobilia" from No. 40 of January 15, 1919, biweekly; it became monthly in 1931 and experienced at the beginning of World War II a sporadic publication, before resuming a monthly schedule from 1941, until the last issue published in 1956.
In 1957, it was taken over by the magazine “Moteurs,” as well as its major competitor “La Vie Automobile” (1903-1956), whose last issue was December 1956.
The last issue before the war will be 427, August-September 1939.
The magazine reappeared with issue No. 428 of February under the name L'Automobile aux armées, continuing through issue No. 432 in June 1940, during the Phoney War, and resumed its monthly cadence with issue No. 433 in August 1941 until its disappearance in December 1956.
The eight issues proposed are those published from June to December 1945, from November 1946, and from August 1948.
It includes all issues published in 1945, including the first after the end of World War II, and these are very rare to find. Also included is the issue dedicated to the first post-war exhibition in October 1946, and the one from August 1948.
This batch of hard-to-find issues will be of keen interest to historians and discerning enthusiasts.
