Roman glass flask with a strongly iridescent surface featuring a Janus head.
Superb Roman anthropomorphic vase in green glass, featuring a double-headed Janus.
Blown body in a mold with two heads resembling plump faces with dimpled chins and curly hair, the cylindrical neck with a long collar and a small frilled lip.
The bottle is covered with a layer of oxidation that is strongly iridescent in rainbow tones.
Towards the 2nd / 3rd century AD.
Height 9.4 cm x width 4.9 cm - Perfect condition, no restoration
These bottles are extremely rare.
Provenance: Germany, R.T.B. gallery.
