Description from the seller
Grundig - Satellite Transistor 6001 (Satellit 210) "Wooden Edition" - World Receiver - 1969/1971
Description of the lot
Here is an absolute icon of vintage broadcasting: the Grundig Satellit Transistor 6001, the international version of the famous Satellit 210. Produced in Germany between 1969 and 1971, this model is regarded by many experts as one of the best non-professional analog multigamma receivers ever built.
This particular unit is the prized wooden-chassis variant, highly sought after by collectors not only for its Mid-Century Modern aesthetics but also for its superior sound performance, warmer and deeper than the later plastic versions.
Key Technical Characteristics:
Multiband reception: full coverage of FM, LW, MW, and shortwave (SW 1–9), including the marine band (60–187 m).
Drum Tuner (Rotating Drum): Exclusive mechanical system with a ceramic drum for selecting the 8 shortwave bands, featuring gold-plated contacts for millimetric precision.
Double Conversion: Advanced technology for exceptional frequency stability and receiver sensitivity.
High-Quality Audio: Two-way speaker system with separate controls for bass and treble.
Design: Walnut wood cabinet with chrome finishes and illuminated analog dials, over 15 cm tall.
Conditions of the object
Excellent cosmetic condition with only very slight signs of wear.
Operation: The radio has been tested and is functioning on all bands. The drum movements should be revisited, as the cylinder aesthetically remains stationary even though the shortwave frequencies change. It is easily repairable for a few euros by replacing the belt that allows the cylinder to rotate.
Lighting in perfect working condition.
Components: complete and original telescopic antenna. Internal power supply included (works on mains or on batteries).
