Description from the seller
This vintage Japanese takohiki knife is a beautiful piece of traditional craftsmanship, designed for extremely precise cutting. The long, narrow, straight form is typical of takohiki knives and makes this blade particularly suitable for filleting and presenting fish and sashimi — clean, controlled, and without sawing motions.
The blade shows a beautiful, natural patina with clear signs of age and use, giving this knife a distinctly authentic appearance. The edge is sharp, though not perfect — entirely in keeping with its age and the demanding life it has already lived.
The wooden handle sits nicely in the hand and is finished with a copper collar, giving the whole thing a distinctive, artisanal look. The balance is sober and functional, just as you would expect from traditional Japanese tools.
With a total length of about 41 cm, this is a generous knife with elegant lines. Ideal for enthusiasts of Japanese kitchen knives, collectors, or home cooks who appreciate honest tools with a history.
A well-worn vintage piece with soul — perfect as a work knife, a collector’s item, or a decorative accent in a kitchen with personality.
