Elegant and important Spirit Kettle on Stand (samovar/kettle with burner) in solid sterling silver 925, English production from the early XX century, complete with tripod base and original burner.
The item bears full English hallmarks:
Lion passant: sterling silver 925
Anchor: Birmingham Assay Office
Date letter: circa 1919
Maker’s mark: S. Blanckensee & Sons Ltd
Stamped for the Chester office; the other marks are worn
Typical high-quality Edwardian craftsmanship, characterized by elegant lines, faceted rounded body, slender spout, insulated handle and shaped feet.
The set includes:
samovar / kettle
original lid
tripod base
spirit burner
Very good condition for age, with natural patina and light signs of use consistent with over 100 years of history.
