A magnificent Italian kitchen scale from the 1930s–1940s, in terms of condition and style.
We often avoided putting this type of scale up for auction because they always had obvious defects or missing and poorly repaired parts.
This one, on the other hand, is nearly untouched, wood free of termites, internal mechanisms intact and functioning smoothly.
It is a scale capable of weighing up to 5 kilograms and that was used in Italy during the period of World War II.
It has seven weights of its own, although the small 5-gram one is missing, which isn’t difficult to obtain.
The glass pane, the Carrara marble, and the wood, which with a conservative restoration could be brought back to its original butter/cream color.
Recommended for the most demanding collectors, for those who want to furnish a corner of their own kitchen or for public venues. It can still be used because it is perfectly precise.
