I give my objects organic and animated qualities, wishing for people to become attached to them like to pets.
Vincent Decat is an artist-designer based in Paris, a graduate of the Design Academy of Eindhoven, who explores the boundaries between design and sculpture. He considers the durability of an object not only through its materials but primarily through the emotional connection it evokes. By making his objects almost alive, they become companions that must be cared for, kept, and cherished.
Aorta is a chair that awakens the senses.
The veins that run through and around it invite touch and interaction. This network of vessels, which runs through and out of the entire structure, brings the piece to life and brings contact with the object.
It is made of a metal frame covered with clay and plaster.
The piece is functional and has a high seat.
It deliberately has cracks, testifying to its artisanal craftsmanship.
