Yamila Velázquez (Las Tunas, Cuba, 1993) is a contemporary artist who uses digital intelligence tools, currently living and working in Alicante, Spain. Owner and partner of a company dedicated to the sale, representation and development of artists and artworks, Velázquez combines her business vision with a deep artistic sensitivity.
This young Cuban talent has established herself in the realm of digital art, using contemporary media to explore themes related to nature, landscape and the intimate relationship between woman and her environment. Her works subtly and visually forceful address themes such as beauty, love, sensuality and feminine delicacy, always framed in enveloping, romantic and refined atmospheres.

This work is a bold deconstruction of the modern myth embodied in Darth Vader. The character, a symbol of oppression and dark technology, has been subverted by being depicted with a white and blue porcelain armor, evoking the delicacy of Ming porcelain and adorned with patterns suggesting a luxury monogram. This contrasts his brutal power with the fragility of an artwork object.

The piece adheres to the principle of Kintsugi—the glorification of repair—but reinterprets it in a dramatic and symbolic way. A cataclysmic fracture runs across the helmet and shoulder of the figure. Instead of gold sealing and healing, this crack is filled with a glowing red light, the pure energy of the dark side or the vital wound of the character.

The details of the armor are complemented with golden filigree that lines the porcelain, reinforcing the idea that Vader’s identity is a construct of maximum value, yet deeply damaged. The red light is not healing; it is a latent and active memory of pain, transformed into an inexhaustible source of power.
