TEAC HA 501 headphone amplifier in dual-mono construction with a heavy toroid transformer and full metal chassis, featuring AutoMute to prevent loud startup, a 5‑position damping factor adjustable for 16–600 ohm headphones, internally set for 230V, 1/4 inch stereo input, 6 kg, includes power cord, and tested and fully functional.
Description from the seller
TEAC HA 501
The headphone amplifier is built in a dual-mono configuration, features a powerful toroidal transformer, and is housed in a full-metal chassis: quality that you can hardly find today.
The build quality, in addition to the parallel dual-mono construction, also highlights the AutoMute system: this prevents the headphones from playing too loudly when turned on — basically a full protection for the ears and their valuable headphones. To deactivate the AutoMute system, turn the volume control briefly to 0, after which you can set the desired volume.
Another feature is the adjustment of the damping factor in five steps—thus headphones with an impedance of 16–600 ohms can be driven optimally.
The amplifier was imported directly from Japan—the internal transformer was adjusted to 230V so that a voltage converter is not needed in Western Europe.
Technical Data
Connector: 1/4" (6.35 mm) stereo jack
Supported headphone impedance: 16 Ohms – 600 Ohms
Maximum output power 1,400 mW + 1,400 mW (at 32 ohms), 135 mW + 135 mW (at 600 ohms)
Nominal power level: 600 mW + 600 mW (at 32 ohms), 34 mW + 34 mW (at 600 ohms)
THD 0.002% (input 1 V, output 1 V, at 32 ohms), 0.01% (input 1 V, output 600 mW, at 32 ohms)
S/N ratio 110 dB (RCA input, 2 Vrms 1 kHz, A-weighted)
Frequency response 2 Hz – 100 kHz (+0 dB/−3 dB), 10 Hz – 100 kHz (+/−3 dB)
