Rimini Blu grand vase in Grand Dimensione style by Aldo Londi for Bitossi, a 1970–1980 Italian ceramic piece in excellent condition, measuring 26 cm high, 19 cm wide and 19 cm deep.
Description from the seller
Large and rare vase from the Rimini Blue series, designed by Aldo Londi in 1959, produced by Bitossi Ceramics. A rare example from the 1980s.
Born in 1911 in Montelupo Fiorentino, Aldo Londi led a life dedicated to art: he was a painter and sculptor, but above all a ceramist. For over fifty years, he collaborated with Bitossi, initially as an artistic director and later as a collaborator.
Ceramic expertise and artistic sensitivity have been her prerogatives. Combined with her predisposition for research, they allowed her to undertake courageous explorations and define a new expressive lexicon.
The iconic Rimini Blu series, produced continuously since 1959, is distinguished by the texture of the surface. The decoration, composed of marks that create a fantastic swirl of abstract-geometric elements set under the blue, evokes the play of light on the surface of the sea.
Large size, dimensions 26x19 cm
Excellent condition.
