Bukhara: The Bukhara rug is the most well-known of Uzbek rugs. They are made in the west of the Uzbek capital. Timeless, they are easily recognizable by their repetitive motifs of elephant feet or Gul and by their blood-red color.
These carpets are made in the city of Bouchara in Uzbekistan. The term 'Bouchara carpet' is generally used to describe carpets whose design resembles the classic Bukhara pattern inspired by Turkmen motifs, which features a bright red background and several circular-shaped designs.
