Stone plate with mythological decoration,

The external surface of this circular plate is entirely decorated with an engraved motif, characteristic of the Chavin style. It features the primordial god, half-man, half-jaguar, seen from the front and sticking out its tongue, followed by profile heads and multiple scrolls that refer to shamanic visions and transformation. Through this subject, the object becomes a viaticum between the world of men and that of ancestors or gods.

Culture: Chavín, Peru, 700 - 400 B.C.
Height 24 cm - Diameter 24 cm
