Description from the seller

Elegant work table, or sewing table, dating from the mid-19th century, made of solid mahogany and veneered in a refined mahogany grain.

The structure is slender and harmonious: the top rests on a turned, solid and scenographic central body, connected by four carved wooden scrolls that visually lighten the whole. The circular base terminates with two feline-shaped carved feet, a decorative element of strong character. The shelf features a lively and shaped outline on the sides, with a molded border that enhances the natural design of the feather. Internally there are numerous compartments, originally intended for precious objects or sewing tools; one contains red velvet with a key. Internal knobs replaced because they were missing. The lock is functional but sometimes needs accompanying.

General condition: good. Compact dimensions ideal even for contemporary interiors, where it becomes a distinctive decorative piece.

Seller's Story

I have always been passionate about our past, knowing it is the only thing that does not cease the connection between what is and what was. When I reached the right age I understood that my passion had to coincide with my work and so I opened a business. The key principles are quality and love towards the customer. Francesco Secondo
