Description from the seller
Redheads
Signed, Joel Meyerowitz
Rizzoli/1991/japanese/240*280*10
Joel Mehlowitz's photobook ‘Redheads (Signed)’. From the 1970s, he gained attention as a leading figure in color photography alongside William Eggleston. Early in his career, he published color landscape works, gaining renown with ‘Cape Light’ (1979) and ‘St. Louis and the Arch’ (1980). He solidified his status with ‘Wild Flowers’ (1983), a collection of street snaps featuring “flowers” as motifs. In recent years, he has continued to showcase his multifaceted appeal across landscapes, still lifes, and snapshots, releasing still life collections like Morandi's Objects (2016) and Cezanne's Objects (2017), featuring the studios and works of masters like Morandi and Cezanne. This book is a rare collection of portraits published in 1991, focusing on “redheads,” who make up only about 2% of the U.S. population. It is a magnificent collection by a photographer who excels not only at capturing landscapes and cities but also the atmosphere people exude. Softcover edition. With the author's signature.
