The Philips N 4420 tape recorder is a four-track stereo tape recorder from Philips.
It has three heads, three motors and three tape speeds (4.75, 9.5, 19 cm/s), an electronically controlled drive, forward and reverse tape control, tape tension adjustment, and automatic shutoff at the end of the tape or when the tape breaks (in later versions). A tape with a back-coated surface can also be used. On the front there are connections for two microphones and a headphone. Also an internal amplifier with speakers and external connections for it, rated 6W/4 ohm.
Its vintage look and sound quality have made it a sought-after item among audio enthusiasts and collectors.
