Maldives 2 Laari, 1960, MS62 by NGC; square-edged, clipped-corner issue from the first republican series, obverse with Arabic inscription and large 2 denomination, reverse showing a palm tree over a crescent and star flanked by two flags with double dating 1960 and ١٣٧٩.

MALDIVES. 2 Laari. 1960.
- Value: 2 Laari.
Year: 1960.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: legend in Arabic with the value 2 in the central numeral and the denomination lari. Reverse: palm tree over crescent and star flanked by two flags, with double dating 1960 and ١٣٧٩.
- Grade: MS62 (NGC).
Coin with a square outline of cut corners, belonging to the first republican minting series of the Maldives. The obverse features the face value prominently in large size, accompanied by Arabic calligraphy in a fluid and well-proportioned style, with clear relief and uniform fields. The reverse shows a symbolic ensemble with a strong national charge, with a central palm tree over a crescent and star, flanked by flags, all executed with a good level of detail and compositional balance. Specimen in uncirculated condition, with a homogeneous brown patina, visible residual gloss, and light contact marks typical of the minting process, preserving a solid and attractive appearance.
