Description from the seller

Very beautiful and large hand-painted Makkum wall plaque, made to commemorate a 50-year jubilee (1907–1957).

The plate is richly decorated with a colorful floral arrangement and a bird at the center, surrounded by a refined, classic Makkumer border decoration. This type of plate was commissioned and is not a mass-produced product.

On the back, the date and initials have been applied:
1907 – 12 September – 1957, with the initials C.C.D. and H.J.D.
This indicates an anniversary of a society or institution, with the name of a board member or donor mentioned.

At the bottom there is the Makkum marking, characteristic of pottery from Makkum (Tichelaar tradition).

Condition
The sign is in good to very good condition.
There is a very small edge defect at the rear (see close-up photo).
This is not visible when hung or displayed at the front.
