Description from the seller

Antique German mass figures – Imperial infantry on the march – c. 1900–1925 (10 pieces)

Very fine and original set of antique German miniature soldiers, depicted as Imperial (Prussian) infantry in marching formation. These figures are made from so-called composite material (Masse), a lightweight material that around the early 20th century was widely used for quality toys and dioramas.

The soldiers wear the distinctive German Imperial uniform with the Pickelhaube, and are individually hand-painted. The natural wear and aging of the paint confirm the authenticity and age of the set.

• Period: ca. 1895–1925
