Brass nautical clock in a Maritime style, featuring a quartz movement, German-made Schatz Mini Mariner from circa 1970–1980, diameter 10 cm.
Description from the seller
Authentic brass nautical clock made in Germany in the second half of the 20th century.
This nautical instrument is a logbook clock model Schatz Mini Mariner, a smaller version of the famous Schatz Royal Mariner watches. Made with a solid brass case and quartz movement. It features a compact cylindrical shape designed to be fixed on helm panels or bulkheads of vessels; its robust build is intended for life at sea.
The piece exhibits an intense patina and natural wear on the brass and the dial, direct evidence of having been exposed to moisture and salinity during its active service on a vessel. This legitimate aging is not a defect, but proof of its functional authenticity, turning this on-board timepiece into a unique historical object with character.
Originally, its function was crucial for maritime chronometry, allowing the crew to measure time and manage watch shifts. Today, it is a decorative element of great value for nautical collectors. It can be integrated into interiors with a maritime theme or study spaces, contributing an authentic industrial and historical aesthetic.
It has been serviced by a professional watchmaker and works perfectly.
