This school map shows “Denver – Geperft Social Science Maps – Medieval Commerce” and is published by Denver Equipment Co. (Chicago).
Based on:
the typography and color scheme (ochre/yellow and green),
the designation “Social Science Maps”,
the linen backing and wooden rods with hanging eye, and
the English terminology in combination with a focus on medieval trade routes,
is this map datable to the 1920s–1940s (likely around 1930).
It concerns an educational wall map for classroom use, featuring the medieval trade routes in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, including the Hanseatic routes, Mediterranean sailing routes and connections toward Asia.
