Elegant double inkstand in Art Nouveau style, circa 1850–1900, made of bronze-patinated copper alloy with an integrated rear letter/document holder, of Belgian origin, weighing 1.48 kg, in good condition with age-related wear.
Description from the seller
Elegant antique double inkwell in the Art Nouveau style, late 19th century (circa 1850–1900), made of copper alloy with a bronze patina, with an integrated rear letter/document holder.
The object stands out for its highly expressive vegetal ornamentation, typical of Art Nouveau aesthetics: leaves in motion, berries and volutes finely shaped, offering a decorative reading that is rich and harmonious. The composition is balanced and symmetrical, with a strong visual presence.
It features two circular recesses intended for inkstands and is offered without glassware, as is often the case for antique inkstands of this period.
Markings and authenticity

« 309 » – « Registered » – initials « G F » engraved in old-style capital letters
