Description from the seller

This set, made up of two bowls and a jar, is miniature tableware used for the offering rite, commonly performed during the Old Kingdom (Dynasties IV–VI).
Thus, this funerary furniture is present in the chapel, the serdab, and the tomb.

Let us notice the traces of fingerprints left on the underside of the pottery during its shaping by wheel throwing.

Ancient provenance from a French public sale, from an old collection, mounted on a modern plinth; the old label recovered from the previous support has been affixed.

This label “AL GIZAH” corresponds to the original provenance of these artifacts: the necropolis of Gizeh, located in Cairo with the pyramids of the pharaohs: Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, but also the cemeteries composed of mastabas of the elites from its various reigns, from where these funerary offerings come.
Dimensions
-Height for the pot: 5.5 cm
-Cup diameters: 4.3 and 5.4 cm
