Description from the seller
Neuschwanstein in Bavaria is a castle in the village of Hohenschwangau in the municipality of Schwangau near Füssen in the Allgäu, built in the second half of the 19th century on behalf of (the later declared insane) King Ludwig II of Bavaria (in Dutch also called Louis). It is his most famous building and with about 1.3 million visitors per year a popular attraction (around 10,000 people per day in the holiday months of July and August). Construction began in 1869 and Ludwig's intention was to erect a medieval knight's castle. The design of the fortress was created by the theatre architect and set designer Christian Jank and for the execution Eduard Riedel and Georg von Dollmann were responsible. The works on the castle were immediately halted upon Ludwig's death in 1886.
Very professionally painted, weathered, patinated, and constructed with a new or existing construction kit, by our German artist.
