* Eye AF (ECF): One of the most important innovations of the EOS 3 is its fast and precise eye autofocus system. This enables users to easily select the focus point by aiming at a specific point in the viewfinder.


* **45-point autofocus system:** It was the world's first camera with a 45-point autofocus system, providing wide coverage and fast, precise focusing.


* **Rugged housing:** The camera features a rugged construction and dust- and moisture protection, similar to the flagship EOS-1N model. This makes it suitable for use under a variety of harsh conditions.


* **High-speed continuous shooting:** The built-in motor drive enables continuous shooting speeds of up to 4.3 frames per second. With the optional, powerful film transport motor PB-E2, the continuous shooting speed can be increased to up to 7 frames per second.*


* **High-speed continuous shooting:** Shutter and metering: Offers shutter speeds from 30 seconds to 1/8000 second as well as various metering modes, including 21‑segment multi‑field metering, evaluative metering, spot metering, and center‑weighted integral metering.

Compatibility: It uses the Canon EF mount and is fully compatible with all lenses in the EF series (except EF-S lenses).
