Important and rare Yela Kela statuette in excellent condition, acquired from an English/Congolese collector. Supported by a custom-made stand. Museum-quality and of a good size (36 cm). Powerful aesthetics, a balanced precursor to Cubism in Europe. Imposing presence.
Polychrome statuette, the head cut like a diamond, the skull flat, a massive body slightly hunched, sturdy legs bent. It shows a few drying cracks, the patina is slightly abraded and still in good condition.
