Description from the seller
Art Deco Sideboard / Credenza, 1940s/1950s
An elegant Art Deco sideboard of exceptional form. The piece features a gently serpentine front with rounded ends, raised on tapered legs, exemplifying the streamlined aesthetic of the period.
Constructed in richly figured walnut veneers, with burr walnut panels, the sideboard displays a warm, golden-brown patina throughout. The top and whole body follows the curved outline of the carcass and are bordered with subtle decorative detailing. The façade is centered by a vertical bank of four drawers fitted with original circular brass ring pulls, flanked by single hinged door cabinet (with interior shelves) and angle cabinet (with interior shelves) on either side. The interior is well-appointed, offering generous storage with fitted shelving behind all side cabinets. The curved end cupboards open to reveal shaped shelves, adding both functionality and visual interest.
This is an interesting piece of furniture, presenting a high level of the period craftsmanship.
The condition is very great, consistent to its age and use, despite of some minor scratches and marks on the wood surface.
Measurement:
Width 218cm x height 95cm x depth 44cm
