Pekin Antique: These rugs are made in several Chinese cities. They are dense and knotted in the old Chinese style, with a very fine wool quality.
There is a long tradition of rug making in China, and the earliest of them, which were probably objects of exchange, appeared more than 2,000 years ago where they were used at the imperial court. However, the art of weaving rugs first arrived in China only between the 15th and 17th centuries.
