Tadao Ando — Tadao Ando [Signed with original drawing], a 383‑page Japanese‑language book with hand‑coloured illustrations, signed by the architect.
Description from the seller
This is a copy of “Kenchikuka Ando Tadao” (Architect Tadao Ando), a powerful visual autobiography by the world-renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando.
At the age of 17, Ando made his professional debut as a boxer. Soon after, he abandoned that path and chose architecture, teaching himself independently without formal academic training. With no commissions and no clients in his early years, he continued to draw plans and conceive architectural ideas relentlessly—sometimes even imagining projects on land he did not own.
Through countless setbacks and rare but meaningful successes, Ando carved out a unique path in modern architecture. This book presents his journey as a visual autobiography, documenting how he confronted social contradictions and challenges through architecture.
This copy contains a handwritten autograph and an original drawing by Tadao Ando on the inside of the front cover.
